What happens if cast falls off after rhinoplasty?

How long after rhinoplasty does the cast come off?

Your cast is typically removed 7 days after your rhinoplasty surgery. This is your first chance to see your nose (albeit a swollen version of it) for the first time.

Will my nose change after cast removal?
The nose may appear turned up, stiff and there will be a fair degree of numbness. A patient who expects to see a perfectly shaped nose as soon as the cast is removed, will suffer disappointment. Much of the swelling disappears within four or five days after the removal of the cast.
When can I start smiling after rhinoplasty?
After a rhinoplasty procedure, don’t be surprised if your smile is temporarily affected by post-operative swelling. The effect is temporary and your smile will return to normal after the initial swelling has dissipated. This may take anywhere from 2 to 4 weeks.

It is very common t have an upturned nose after rhinoplasty, especially after an open approach. In my experience, this will usually resolve by the 6 week mark. Sometimes, it can take as long as 6-12 months. If my 12 months there is still an upturned appearance, you may need a revision.
