Can you nail down click lock flooring?
Some “click lock” flooring requires the installer to put a nail through the groove side of the board instead of the traditional tongue side. The Powernail 2000 is one of the few nailers able to do so. This is because the base adjusts above and below the floor board to get a tight fit inside the nail pocket.
Do you need underlay with Quick-Step vinyl?
No. If your subfloor is perfectly level, an underlay is not needed. If that is not the case, we strongly recommend using a Quick-Step underlay in combination with Click Flex Vinyl and Alpha Vinyl. Keep in mind that the Quick-Step underlays act as an additional sound barrier as well.
What happens if you don’t stagger vinyl flooring?
A floating floor that is not adequately staggered will look odd, and not have the strength and structural stability of a properly laid laminate floor. The main problem with laminate flooring that has not been properly staggered is that it is more likely to separate from the boards it is adjoined to.
Should floating floors move when walking on them?
Making sure the subfloor is relatively flat minimizes vertical movement of the floor when people walk on it. Note, though, that with a floating floor you will always have a certain amount of movement, as it is installed over a pad. When you walk, the pad compresses and the floor will move.
Can you glue timber flooring to concrete?
Acoustiflor can be applied to concrete floors that have less than 5.5% moisture content without the use of a moisture barrier. Adhesive for fixed timber flooring should be polyurethane based or a suitable formulation that does not contain water.
