Is Stanislaus National Forest open for camping?
Important note: Due to impacts from the COVID-19 virus, not all campgrounds on the Stanislaus National Forest are open. Due to social distancing and limited personnel and supplies of PPE, our employees are not able to be everywhere they are needed this summer. We will open other campgrounds as we are able.
Is Stanislaus River Campground open?
Area Status: Open There are 25 campsites with picnic tables, hand pumped water, and vault toilets.
Is Dimond O Campground open?
Area Status: Open It is the closest campground to the Big Oak Flat entrance to Yosemite National Park and Hetch Hetchy Reservoir. Each site has a picnic table, bear box, and a campfire pit with a grill. Vault toilets and potable water is available throughout the campground.
Is Spicer Lake open for camping?
Area Status: Open Close to reservoir, however boat ramp is about a mile away. Spicer Reservoir Group Campground is operated by Sierra Recreation Management.
Is Meadowview Campground open?
Area Status: Open It has 100 camping sites, each of which has a metal stove/ fire pit and a table. Roads and parking areas, which vary in length, are paved. Water hydrants are located to serve several sites. All restrooms have flush toilets and sinks.
Is Lumsden Campground open?
Area Status: Open Lumsden Campground is on a low elevation pine and oak forested site on the Tuolumne Wild & Scenic River (area is unavailable) approximately one mile from South Fork Campground and two miles from Lumsden Bridge Campground, within the Tuolumne-Lumsden Recreation Area.
Is Fraser Flat campground open?
Area Status: Open Forested site on the South Fork Stanislaus River. Two sites, a vault toilet, and two fishing piers are accessible.
Is Summerdale Campground open?
Area Status: Open Summerdale is located in the Highway 41 Corridor of the Bass Lake Ranger District, an area known for its giant sequoias. Big Creek, which runs by the campground, is active with the local beaver population.
Is Utica Lake open?
Area Status: Open Utica Reservoir is set in a granite basin surrounded by red fir and lodgepole pine forest. The reservoir has lots of islands and is kept mostly full. Granite slabs along the shore extend into the water. There are two campgrounds adjacent to each other, Sandy Flat and Rocky Point.
Can you swim in Spicer Reservoir?
Spicer Meadow Reservoir Sailing, canoeing, kayaking, swimming, floating and fishing are also popular water activities.
Is Pinecrest Lake open?
Area Status: Open It is located 30 miles east of Sonora on State Highway 108. The Recreation Area lies in a timbered setting at an elevation of 5,600 feet. The California Department of Fish and Wildlife regularly stocks Pinecrest Lake with rainbow trout.
Is Clarks Fork Campground open?

Is there dispersed camping in Yosemite?
Camping is not permitted between Yosemite Valley and Little Yosemite Valley. If you would like to camp in a dispersed wilderness setting, you must camp beyond the Half Dome/John Muir Trail junction or beyond Moraine Dome (toward Merced Lake).

What to do on the North Fork of the Stanislaus?
Campground, picnic area, and whitewater boating put-in on the North Fork of the Stanislaus River. Campground name is Wakalu Hep Yo. Spicer Reservoir has a surface area of 2,000 acres when full. Visitors enjoy camping, fishing, hiking, and horseback riding. These scenic small, twin reservoirs are located off the Spicer Reservoir Road.
