What is a reverse flow muffler?
A reverse flow or “turbo” muffler takes the exhaust gases on an S-shaped path through the muffler. The exhaust gases travels to one end of the muffler, is turned 180 degrees and heads back to the first end. From there it is again turned 180 degrees before it passes through the outlet.

How does a Waterlock muffler work?
The rotatable inlet of the waterlock is connected to the engine exhaust manifold, using VETUS exhaust hose (see page 77). The exhaust gases, mixed with cooling water are forced from the lower chamber into the upper one, via the central riser tube and then through the (also rotatable) outlet connector at the top.
Are straight through mufflers louder than chambered?

There are some of the old Lukey designs in amongst them, but they don’t sound the same as the original. With the straight through range, Lukey never made them, so if you buy a “Lukey” race or ultra flow, it’s not really a Lukey muffler, it’s a Dynomax.
What is the loudest muffler on the road?

Are ultraflows and race mufflers the same thing?
The UltraFlows and race muffler have a perforated tube going right through the whole muffler which is glass packed, so no, they are not the same. I am no longer in business but I will answer questions. I think a bit of background info is required here. When Lukey was still around they were a great sounding muffler.
