What is the generic name for metalyse?
Tenecteplase is a tissue plasminogen activator (t-PA) produced by recombinant DNA technology, using an established mammalian cell line (Chinese Hamster Ovary cells). Tenecteplase is a recombinant plasminogen activator that is derived from native t-PA by modifications at three sites of the protein structure.

METALYSE is indicated for the thrombolytic treatment of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Treatment should be initiated as soon as possible after symptom onset. METALYSE should be administered on the basis of body weight, with a maximum dose of 10,000 units (tenecteplase 50 mg).
