How do I come a big brother?
Bigs must meet all of the following criteria:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be in a stable living situation.
- Commit to being matched in the program for at least one year (understanding the enrollment/matching process could take several months).
- Must be able to meet your Little 2-4 times per month, every month.
What Big Brother takes?
Items We Accept: Men’s, Women’s and Children’s Clothing and Accessories (Including: Hats, Wallets, Purses, Shoes & Boots) NEW or LIKE NEW Bedding and Linens (Including: Sheets, Blankets, Towels, Small Household Mats, Tablecloths, Dish Towels) Other Cloth Items (Fabric, Cushions, Wool, Curtains and Drapes)
What does it take to be a big sister?
Bigs are volunteer mentors, ages 18+ (16-17 year olds accepted with parent permission in the School Based program) and come from diverse backgrounds just like our Littles. They are regular people, just like you. You don’t need any special degrees or job skills.

How does the matching process work for Big Brothers Big Sisters?
Matching. When Big Brothers Big Sisters works to match a Little with a Big, we take into account the needs, personality, interests, and goals of both the child and the adult volunteer. We introduce the Little and his or her family to the Big slowly and make sure everyone is fully committed to the match before it is made official.
