How do I show threads in NX Drafting?

How do I show threads in NX Drafting?

Hi @S_Bachar,

  1. You can also set this in the customer defaults settings.
  2. Drafting > General/Setup > Customize Standard.
  3. View > Common > Set Display type as you needed.
  4. Changes to the customer defaults will be effective in the new parts once you restart the NX session.

How do you dimension an external thread?

Adding Callouts for External Threads

  1. Click Smart Dimension (Dimensions/Relations toolbar) or Tools > Dimensions > Smart.
  2. Select the two silhouette edges of the cosmetic thread. The pointer changes to when it is over a silhouette edge of a cosmetic thread.
  3. Click to place the dimension.

How do I create a thread in Solidworks?

2. Using the Built-In Solidworks Thread Feature

  1. Start by creating a cylindrical extrusion or cylindrical hole, much like the initial steps to of making a cosmetic thread.
  2. Then, click “Insert” then “Feature” and “Thread.” This will automatically create a thread.

What is thread in engineering drawing?

Thread is the helical grooves which are opened to inner and outer surfaces. Fig. 1 shows the screw thread terminology. External thread (screw/vida – bolt/cıvata – stud/saplama): A thread on the external surface of a cylinder. Internal thread (nut/somun): A thread on the internal surface of a cylinder.

What is nominal thread size?

Thread sizes are given in nominal sizes, not in the actual measurement. The exact measurement is slightly below the named or nominal size. For example, a 6mm bolt may measure 5.8mm or 5.9mm, but it is called 6mm bolt. It is also common to use “M” before the bolt size, such as M6 for a 6mm bolt.

What is major diameter of thread?

Major Diameter: The largest diameter of the thread of the screw or nut. The term “major diameter” replaces the term “outside diameter” as applied to the thread of a screw and also the term “full diameter” as applied to the thread of a nut. Minor Diameter: The smallest diameter of the thread of the screw or nut.

How is thread length measured?

Length is measured from the point at which the head sits flat with the surface, to the tip of the threads. Hex, pan, truss, button, socket cap, and round head screws are measured from right under the head to the end of the threads.

What is Hole callout?

The Hole Callout tool adds driven diameter dimensions to holes created by the Hole Wizard or circular cut features. Best results are obtained by creating holes using the Hole Wizard. Hole callouts are available in drawings. If you change a hole dimension in the model, the callout updates automatically.

How to understand thread sizes?

Thread Sizes Explained – How to Understand/Read Thread Dimensions 1 1.Thread sizes in inches are specified by diameter and threads per inch. For example, in the screw size 10-24, the first… 2 2.Thread sizes in metric are specified by diameter and pitch. The metric thread sizes are generally expressed as M2 × 0. More

How do you dimension a threaded component in SolidWorks?

Place front/side views of the threaded component to be dimensioned. Use the view layout tab and select either “Standard 3 view” or “model view”. Use smart dimensions, from the annotation tab of the CommandManager, to place all of the necessary dimensions to fabricate the component.

What is the thread size of a screw?

For instance, when a screw or bolt measures 5.9mm, it is called a 6mm thread. There are two common methods to write the thread dimensions. 1.Thread sizes in inches are specified by diameter and threads per inch. For example, in the screw size 10-24, the first digit refers to the thread diameter, the and second digit is threads-per-inch (TPI).

What is a 6mm thread?
