Picnic groves with tables, grills and playgrounds are located on either side of the beach. Swimming is only permitted during the summer months when lifeguards are on duty. Inner tubes, rafts and other flotation devices are not permitted in the swimming area.

Water: There is pressurized water at the new sites and it is available for campers at the older part. Garbage Services: Garbage service is available. Electricity Available: All of the new sites have 50 amp service available. Restroom: The restroom and shower facilities were brand new at the time of our visit.

The reservoir has two different boat ramps; on in the north and one in the south. I opted for the southern boat launch. You’re likely to see both kayaks and small fishing boats in the water but the U-shaped body of water is big enough that you can easily forget anyone else is around.

What’s new at Heyburn Park?
Take a second to learn more about some of the recent changes. Heyburn Park features 47 campsites, a 2 lane boat ramp, courtesy dock, playground, 2 restroom/shower facilities, 2 group shelters, and a large swim beach with picnic tables. The campground has 46 campsites with water and electric hookups, some of which have 50 amp service.
What’s it like to visit Heyburn?
It was fascinating to learn that Heyburn was considered for National Park status and the way the park is set up, it’s almost like going through a mini National Park. Lots of trails to choose from.
Is there a boat launch at Heyburn?
Plus a small boat launch just outside the entrance to the campground, with a few docks within the campground. We also spend some time at the main Heyburn campground, where there is plenty of beach to play on for kids and boat rentals to spend some time on the water.
