Can you camp on state land in CT?
Camp Visitors Visitors are allowed to enter state campgrounds from 8:00 a.m. to sunset and may stay until 10:00 p.m. Daily parking rates apply for visitors arriving in out-of-state registered vehicles. Designated parking areas must be used.
Does Hammonasset Beach allow alcohol?
Alcohol is not permitted on any Beach, Athletic Field or Parking Areas. The designated area for the consumption of alcohol is within the picnic area of the Surf Club from the Surf Club Building to the beginning of the boat rack area, from the seawall to the edge of the parking area.

Sometimes there are barely any waves at all, others times enough to go over your boggie board. You are not allowed flotation devices in areas with lifeguards. This is a very big beach! The area closest to the campground does not have guards and some campsites are very close.
