What are 3M Steri-Strips used for?
Steri‐Strip skin closures are indicated for use as a skin closure device in the treatment of lacerations and surgical incisions. Steri‐Strip skin closures may also be used in conjunction with skin sutures and staples or after their removal for wound support.
Should you change Steri-Strips daily?
The Steri-Strips will fall off on their own within two weeks. After two weeks, gently remove any remaining Steri-Strips. If the strips start to curl before it’s time to remove them, you can trim them.
How long do Steri-Strips stay?
The new Steri-strips should stay on for another 1-2 weeks. Again, you can shower over these but still should not soak or scrub. They usually fall off after 2 weeks, but if they stay on longer than 2 weeks, you can take them off.

The steri-strips should not stay on more than 14 days. If they haven’t fallen off by day 14, you should remove them yourself.
Can I put Vaseline on Steristrips?
If you have steri strips, do not use Vaseline on your incision as this would keep steri strips from sticking. When you clean the wound, you may gently clean over the top of the steri strips.
When should Steri-Strips be removed?
Keep wound dry and covered for 24 hours. IF steri-strips remain intact, no wound care is needed. IF the steri-strips become discolored, they should be gently removed.
