Does Neutrogena T Gel contain coal tar?
This medication contains coal tar shampoo. Do not take Neutrogena T/Gel Original, DHS Tar, Doak Tar, Ionil T Plus, PC-Tar, Pentrax, Polytar Shampoo, TeraGel, or Zetar if you are allergic to coal tar shampoo or any ingredients contained in this drug. Keep out of reach of children.

How often can I use TGEL?
Neutrogena T/Gel Therapeutic Shampoo should be used two to three times weekly for the treatment of scalp disorders. Treatment usually lasts for 6 weeks, after which time improvement should be seen. Longer periods of treatment should only take place under the supervision of a doctor.
Is Neutrogena T Gel Extra Strength discontinued?
The Ionil T Plus brand name has been discontinued in the U.S. If generic versions of this product have been approved by the FDA, there may be generic equivalents available.
Does TGEL work for psoriasis?
Neutrogena T/Gel (for the skin) is used to treat the skin symptoms of psoriasis, including dryness, redness, flaking, scaling, and itching. Coal tar is not a cure for psoriasis, and it will provide only temporary relief of skin symptoms. Coal tar may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Can I use Neutrogena T Gel everyday?
Protect eyes with a washcloth or towel. Use this product usually twice a week or as directed by your doctor. Dosage is based on your medical condition, your product type/brand, and response to treatment. Do not use large amounts of this medication, use it more often, or use it for a longer period than directed.
