In the same fashion as our previous article, we will break the characters down into eight groups of five and two groups of three.

How to write hiragana strokes?
Write Hiragana in the ka-line. The following diagram shows how to write hiragana characters か (ka), き (ki), く (ku), け (ke) and こ (ko) in the correct order and strokes. Bear in mind that for the character き (ki), the 3rd stroke is not connected to the 4th stroke.
Should you learn hiragana or katakana first?
Start learning katakana after you’ve become thoroughly proficient at reading hiragana. Hiragana is much more central to the language, so you certainly want to learn that first, and learn it properly. Only then should you move onto katakana.
