What does Ibolc mean?

What does Bolc consist of?
BOLC is the entry level course for students who are becoming commissioned officers in the Army and is conducted in two phases over seven weeks, including classroom training and field training. The objective of the course is to train new officers in Army tasks and familiarize them with the AMEDD culture.
Where do you live during Ibolc?
Inprocessing. Student Housing: Students have the option of living off post at a rented apartment / house or on post on Fort Benning. It is best to begin to coordinate for housing prior to arrival at IBOLC as there is limited time prior to beginning the course.
What happens if you fail Ibolc?
The 12 mile foot march is a graduation requirement Students must foot march 12 miles in 3 hours or less on a standard route with the IBOLC packing list. If a student fails to meet this standard, they will be afforded the opportunity to retest prior to graduation. The student will retest on a standard 12 mile course.
How long is Ranger school training?

The Ranger course has changed little since its inception. Until recently, it was an eight-week course divided into three phases: “crawl,” “walk,” and “run.” The course is now 61 days in duration and remains divided into three phases: “benning,” “mountain,” and “florida.”
How much of Ibolc is in the field?
Half of IBOLC is in the field. The conditions in the field will vary from being 100% tactical versus sleeping in the woods but not pulling fireguard.
What unit is Ibolc?
The mission of IBOLC is to train and develop second lieutenants to become competent and adaptive Infantry Officers, imbued with the Warrior Ethos and prepared to lead infantry platoons in combat.
Does Ranger school use the Acft?
BLUF: Army schools, particularly selection and Ranger will not switch over to the ACFT until it is the official Army test of record. This is currently scheduled to happen OCT 1, 2020 ( FY21).
Is Ranger school required for infantry officers?
Almost all infantry officers are expected to pass Ranger School, while only a small percentage will actually serve in the 75th.
Do you do PT at BOLC?
Most BOLC PT programs focus on preparing the class to perform on the APFT/ACFT. As with any unit PT program, your success or failure is in your own hands. Take advantage of optional PT opportunities, and plan to regularly do PT on your own.
