What is compatible with HEOS?

Does HEOS support hi res audio?
Which audio formats does HEOS support? We have two generations of HEOS devices, HEOS HS1 and HEOS HS2. HS2 is an updated version and unlike the first generation, it supports high resolution file playback via music servers and USB devices. This means that you can play DSD, WAV, FLAC, ALAC up to 192kHz and 24bits.
Is HEOS lossless?

I know for a fact that Denon’s HEOS does not support Dolby Atmos, neither does Yamaha’s Musicast.

Can I use Heos speaker (Heos 1, 3, 5, 7) to create a wireless 5.1 or 7.1 surround system with my Denon AV Receiver? Unfortunately, it is not possible to use other HEOS speakers (like HEOS1, HEOS 3, HEOS 5, HEOS 7) as surround speakers with your Denon AV Receiver.
Does HEOS do MQA?
MQA will play at cd quality rate 16 bit 44.1 kHz, unles you have a streaming media player like a Bluesound node that can unfold MQA to its higher resolution.”
Does HEOS support MQA?
HEOS cannot process MQA at hi-res through a Denon AVR. Another non-HEOS alternative may be to stream through the Windows PC Tidal app using a MQA-enabled USB DAC that provides a stereo cable connection to an analog input of a Denon AVR.
How many speakers can I connect to Heos amp?
2 speakers
You can simultaneously play both through the HEOS app. I connect 2 speakers to my amp for behind my pool and I use the receiver for speakers at the patio and inside the house. I can combine the systems and play the same music via the HEOS app. I hope this helps.
Does HEOS stream lossless?
As long as you have a valid TIDAL HiFi subscription it will automatically stream HiFi. TIDAL HiFi streams in Lossless FLAC 16bit/44.1kHz and TIDAL Premium streams in AAC 320kbps.
Is HEOS better than airplay?
You will get better than HEOS sound quality. Even Bubbleupnp media player ( 16 bit/44.01khz) sound better than HEOS (subjective opinion). Airplay is limited by iOS and HEOS stream at 16bit/44.1Khz rate. mConnect Media player stream MQA first fold at 24bit/48 Khz .

Does AirPlay degrade audio quality?
Yes, right now AirPlay audio means 16/44.1 kHz. In case specifically of Apple Music streaming it’s lossy AAC.
