Which bulb is better for eyes?
Traditional incandescent bulbs are fine, but many people are looking for a more energy efficient option. Luckily, “warm light” CFLs (Compact Fluorescent Lights) are okay for your eyes, as well as being much more efficient. They do emit UV rays, but a much smaller amount. You can also use LED bulbs or halogens.
Are LED lights healthier than fluorescent?
We suggest using incandescent or halogen bulbs throughout the day + night if you’re after a greater sense of well-being. Also – unlike most harshly flickering LED or fluorescent bulbs – incandescents (and color-correct halogens like Chromalux®) will also be the healthiest type of light for your eyes!

Why do CFL bulbs need to be recycled?
Each CFL contains 4 milligrams of mercury,which is harmless when the bulb is intact but potentially toxic if the bulb breaks in a landfill and enters the water stream
Are CFL bulbs bad?
The Bad: Fluorescent tubes & CFL bulbs contain a small amount of mercury gas (about 4 mg) – which is toxic to our nervous system, lungs and kidneys. So long as bulbs stay intact, the mercury gas is no threat. This means bulbs should be handled properly to avoid breakage. There are some basic safety steps to follow if one is broken.
