Why can’t I create an itsme account?
You can only create an itsme® account with your eID via a computer, because your eID needs to be read using a card reader. Surf to my.itsme.be/en/register and follow the steps on the website to link your eID to the itsme® app.

You can buy ecard readers for 12-20 euro at mediamarkt, vandenborre and fnac. I used mine to do my Belgian taxes and to access certain documents on Doccle some communes gave them for free, like saint gilles, not sure if still the case Thanks for the info, so I take it the bank card reader does not work with the ID cards?
Should I use itsme or eID card reader?
