Can you wax oilskin?
Heat the reproofing container in hot water until the wax turns to liquid. Ideally, the hot water level should only be 3cm lower than the tin can. Apply the wax directly onto the garment using a soft cloth, sponge, or paintbrush. Make sure to apply thicker coating to the shoulders, neck, and seams of the coat.
How do you restore a Driza-Bone?
After re-proofing, hang garment out in the sun on a warm day, or use the heat of a blow-dryer on a low setting, spreading the heat evenly over the coat as this helps the oil penetrate the garment. After drying, place garment on a strong hanger and leave to cool. Your Driza-Bone coat will now be rejuvenated.
